Lisbet Velazquez is one of the founding and managing partners of VPP Law Firm. She came from Cuba at the age of 17 and, in a relatively short time, has accomplished many achievements. Mrs. Velazquez has, impressively, earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Florida as well as her Juris Doctorate from Nova Southeastern University, Shepard College of Law.
While in Law School, Ms. Velazquez earned a spot on the Dean’s list twice, was a member of the Cuban American Bar Association and the Hispanic Law Student Association. She also interned for the Honorable Judge Don Cohn, County Court Judge of the 11th Judicial Circuit in and for Miami-Dade County and served as a Certified Legal Intern at the Public Miami-Dade County Public Defender’s Office.
Mrs. Velazquez has fiercely represented policyholders and insureds throughout the insurance claims process and has represented clients in their fire, water, windstorm, auto, residential and commercial insurance claims.
Leslie Perez Perez is one of the founding and managing partners of VPP Law Firm. She was born and raised in Cuba and came to the United States at the age of 24. Mrs. Perez Perez was an attorney in Cuba; however, due to the Cuban Government’s manipulation of the legal representation in the island and the complete disregard for Constitutional law and human rights, Leslie was forced to abandon her roots in search of a better judicial system. Impressively, Leslie was able to learn the laws of the United States and the English language simultaneously and, within 5 years in the United States, Leslie was admitted as an attorney in the State of Florida.
As an attorney, Leslie has represented individuals and corporations in complex civil litigations. In addition, Leslie has represented homeowners with their claims to insurance companies, including depositions, mediations, and trials throughout the State of Florida.
Leslie understands first-hand the challenges that come with the language barrier and is a passionate advocate for those who don’t clearly understand their rights. Leslie is committed to her clients and dedicated to providing the utmost legal representation that she can.
Mrs. Perez Perez is a member of the Florida Bar and is licensed to practice in Florida and in federal Court.
